- The guest rooms are just as impressive as the crisp, clean and contemporary lobby, with Egyptian 300-thread-count cotton linens (and Marriot’s signature cozy beds), soundproof windows to keep out the honks and horns of the growing city and Aromatherapy toiletries in the expansive marble bathrooms.
- You can’t miss Circo, whose live music and pizzas are some of the best in the city, but the small space can crowd on Fridays and Saturdays. Tip: Go for an early cocktail and appetizer so you can soak up the views and the music without the wait.
- The location of the JW Bogota can’t be beat. It’s within walking distance to 93rd Street Park and the coveted Zona G gastronomy district.
- The luxurious spa is an oasis from the loud city with a large indoor pool and a full-service health club with brand-new gym equipment.
- Treat yourself to the spa’s Diamond Glitter ritual, which uses mineral extracts from diamond, amethyst and sapphire stones to recover firmness and a youthful appearance. The 2.5-hour experience starts with a full-body exfoliation followed by a moisturizing massage and sublime facial.
Things to Know
- You don’t need a car to get around to some of Bogota’s famous landmarks, like the Monserrate cable car or the Museo Botero square, since taxis and public transportation are readily available.
- The metro, which takes you all around the city for next to nothing, is nearly unbearable during massive rush-hour crowds, so allow ample time to get back to the luxury hotel.
The Rooms
- The rooms feel like they belong in a boutique Colombian hotel. They tout rich dark wooden furniture, splashes of bright red accents, Colombian sculptures and paintings, and tropical plants.
- In the 10-story glass hotel, the 25 suites are easily the most impressive. They are outfitted with a large sitting area, a spacious work desk with an ergonomic chair, a large marble bathroom with a textured gold mirror and a bathtub.
- The Junior Suites feature large, floor-to-ceiling windows that offer sweeping views of the sparkling skyline and surrounding Monserrate mountain.
- Book the 1,937-square-foot Presidential Suite, which has the luxurious amenities of the Junior Suites (overly plush down comforters and comfortable sofas) with bonuses, like a fireplace, a dining table that seats six, two marble bathrooms, a 42-inch LCD TV and large step-out balconies with 180-degree views of the city.
The Dining
- For a break from the empanadas and plantains, have a bite at Tamarine, a cool and chic Asian fusion restaurant that serves fresh Pacific seafood, like lobster tails served on a bed of creamy avocado and butternut puree and tempura and gyoza prawns.
- Keeping with the Asian influence, Nau Sushi Lounge at the Bogota hotel offers an incredible variety of succulent and fresh sushi rolls and a vast collection of authentic Japanese sakes and innovative cocktails, like the green tea and lychee sake martini.
