Juliana Hotel Brussels

An elegant neoclassical arts enclave
VERIFIED LUXURY

With only 37 rooms and six suites scattered across three floors, the sophisticated Juliana Hotel Brussels proves both spacious and secluded. Each spot features views of either the historic square out front or the hotel's own verdant vegetable garden.

While there, take a dip in the calming indoor swimming pool, relax at the spa, visit the private fitness room and sample world-class Italian cuisine at the hotel's restaurant. Among all these spots there's plenty of modern and ancient art to take in, the perfect pairing with a visit to local cultural centers such as the Magritte Museum.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Keep an eye out for notable designer pieces and art throughout the property. For example, there's a stunning mirror by Philippe Starck, an Hermès-inspired corridor, a 1930s-style iron railing along the stairwell and plenty of nods to neoclassical art both in and outside the rooms.
  • Fisco at Juliana provides daily dinner service, dishing up Italian food by chef Rosa Caldarola. The menu changes every few months, but daily specials highlight the local and seasonal ingredients available. Items may include millefoglie di polenta, pumpkin crème brûlée with mushrooms, parmesan croquettes, and monkfish ballotine with saffron cream.
  • Head to the spa and take advantage of the intricately tiled turquoise pool. In between laps, gaze toward the walls, where murals inspired by Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier decorate the space.
  • Make a stop in the bar, not just for the craft cocktails, glasses of champagne and small bites, but to be surrounded by a beautiful design. The walls have a gold-orange hue highlighted with copper and bronze, making the gold velvet couches blend right in. There's a mural by father-and-son artists Kelvin and Philip Lavergne, as well as a striking statue of Theseus and the minotaur.
  • Choose from a variety of wellness treatments, including massages, facials, hairdressing, manicures and more at the spa. There's also a sauna and steam room guests can use, whether they come for a treatment, the gym or the pool.

The Rooms

  • No matter which of the six styles of room or suite is booked, each has a unique shape, art and/or wallpaper to set it apart from the rest. Each stay features Molton Brown bath products and a Nespresso coffee maker.
  • The Signature Suite features a mansard ceiling with heavy, original dark wooden beams reaching between the walls. The wood adds a sharp contrast to the golden hardwood floors, pale walls and striking mural of ancient stone statues. Black velvet couches give the modern room a touch of refinement, as does the marble bathroom, complete with an intricately tiled soaking tub and skylight.
  • In the refined Juliana Suite, muted seafoam walls add to the calm of the space, which features cool gray sofas and velvety throw pillows in the large living room. The suite also has an office, a reception room and a separate toilet. The main bathroom is done all in white and gray marble, and includes an infrared sauna, as well as a deep bathtub and rain shower.
  • Each of the Prestige Rooms showcases different colors and architecture. Expect subdued light and works of art from the hotel's private collection scattered throughout the spaces. Though not as large as the suites, there's still a cozy velvet loveseat in the room, which begs for lounging on before or after a luxurious bath.
