VERIFIED LUXURY
Here are five things to know about us:
1. We verify luxury. Our highly trained inspectors visit every property we rate, evaluating based on up to 900 objective criteria. Our hotel stays span a minimum of two nights.
2. We pay our own way. No one can buy a rating; all ratings are earned through our objective inspection process.
3. Our global team of inspectors are anonymous at all times, so they have the same experience as a typical guest.
4. While we inspect both service and facility, our Star Rating system emphasizes service because your experience at a hotel, restaurant or spa goes beyond looks — how it makes you feel is what you will remember most.
5. We started in1958 as Mobil Travel Guide, and we created the original Five-Star rating system for hospitality.

These properties deliver an outstanding experience and consistently offer a highly customized level of service.
Four-Star

Situated in a scenic spot overlooking the Edgartown Lighthouse, the harbor and the Atlantic Ocean, the Harbor View Hotel commands unparalleled views. Visitors have been admiring these panoramas since 1891, when the Harbor View Hotel opened its doors. It was one of the first properties to help transform the former whaling port into an upscale resort town. Since then, it’s hosted everyone from beachgoers to filmmakers — director Steven Spielberg and the cast and crew of Jaws took up an entire floor there when they shot the well-known film on Martha’s Vineyard in 1975.
Behind the shingled Victorian facade and wraparound porch, you’ll find more modern interiors, including coastal-inspired public areas and 117 rooms and suites bathed in white. There are accommodations for every kind of vacation style: classic in the grand Historic Building, contemporary in The Roxana, private in the standalone Captain’s Cottages or all-out luxury in the Presidential Skyhouse Wing. These all underwent an extensive 2020 renovation that also included two new restaurants.
