Boasting panoramic river views from sky-high windows, The Ritz-Carlton, Perth sets a high bar for luxury in Western Australia’s budding hospitality scene. The brand’s first foray into Australia blends the best of classic Ritz-Carlton finesse with Perth’s unique local flair, all tied up in a stylish package at a stunning address.
Perched along the modern Elizabeth Quay development with its myriad bars, restaurants and city sights, the striking skyscraper puts the best of Perth at your feet — not that you’d want to stray far from your sumptuous digs. Spacious accommodations lined with wall-to-wall windows let the Western Australian sun drench your room in natural light, while curtains provide privacy at the touch of a button. A locally inspired signature restaurant, a river-view pool and an Australian-minded spa round out the retreat’s relaxing offerings.
The pink mirrored glass in the upper portion of the building’s exterior is symbolic of Western Australian sunsets and the pink Argyle diamonds from the East Kimberley region, while the colored yellow glass in the lower portion of the building reflects Perth’s sandy beaches. The building shines gold at sunset, beautifying the Perth cityscape.
A 19-foot-long wall sculpture in the lobby by local artist Jon Denaro contains colonial artifacts excavated from the site during development. Shards of blue and white transfer-printed ceramics are held in place by thick copper wire on a brass rod structure, giving the essence of the river and rhythm of the ocean against the Kimberley sandstone backdrop.
