Nobu by the Beach

Chic poolside dining on Palm Jumeirah
VERIFIED LUXURY
While there are plenty of upscale restaurants and bars at Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star Atlantis The Royal, there’s nowhere quite like Nobu by the Beach for elegant poolside lounging on a sunny day in Dubai. With views of the Arabian Sea along a sandy beach and the splendid Dubai skyline in the distance, a palm-fringed lagoon pool sets the stage for savoring Japanese-Peruvian cuisine by renowned chef Nobuyuki Matsuhisa.

Nobu by the Beach is the first pool and beach club by Nobu, a renowned global brand that has evolved from a successful eatery in Beverly Hills to a network of more than 50 restaurants and 19 luxury hotels worldwide. Lounge on day beds around the lagoon pool while cooling off with Nobu popsicles, mochi ice cream and fruit ceviche. Tuck into delicious dishes at the refined indoor restaurant and linger for a sundowner or two at the outdoor bar and terrace, while grooving to deep-house beats by a live DJ.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Incorporating earthy hues, a minimalistic aesthetic and natural materials (teak, concrete, glass and wood) in the sophisticated yet understated design, the indoor restaurant draws inspiration from Japanese architecture and the beachfront setting.
  • With a live robatayaki counter (see: fireside fish and beef cooking) to watch chefs at work, and an oceanfront terrace and cocktail bar, it’s reminiscent of a contemporary Japanese beach house.
  • The menu showcases the signature Japanese-Peruvian fare that has become synonymous with the Nobu brand, served as sharing platters and bite-sized portions suitable for poolside dining.
  • Feast on flavorful lobster, short-rib tacos and a wide selection of salads, sushi, sashimi, ceviche and rock shrimp tempura. The Nobu-style sandwiches, like wagyu beef and chicken sandos, are highly recommended. Try the chargrilled octopus mango shiso and Chilean sea bass skewers on the kushiyaki menu. If you’re craving Nobu’s signature miso-glazed black cod, you’ll enjoy the light, poolside take served in butter lettuce cups.
  • Japanese and Peruvian flavors also inspire an innovative cocktail menu offering a drink for every mood, from the creative Hipster Fizz to the classic Thai Martini.

Things to Know

  • While the lagoon pool is open to adults only, the indoor restaurant at Nobu by the Beach welcomes patrons of all ages.
  • The gorgeous setting makes this spot perfect for a lingering lunch. Guests looking to relax poolside can choose from single sun loungers, comfortable shaded day beds, open-air cabanas for six and air-conditioned cabanas.
  • For the ultimate splurge, book an air-conditioned cabana. These come with generous living areas, private bathrooms and terraces, while the VIP cabanas also have private plunge pools overlooking the sea. You’ll be welcomed with a platter and a bottle of champagne, and all dishes on the restaurant menu can be served in these luxurious spaces.
